Most of the large organizations have a subunit that is known as the profit center. The main responsibility of this unit is to deal with financial and nonfinancial measures that are related to accounting. They are mainly viewed as an entity that is distinct. The individual who is in charge of this unit is known as a profit centre manager.

The role of the profit center manager is to account for all the expenses and revenues made by the revenues and costs center. This means that the manager is answerable for all the financial issues that arise from that center. The main goal of the center is to maximize the net income of the unit.

There are some organizations that have a long-term investment capital tool that is put under the profit center. It is not the responsibility of the supervisor that is working at the center to manage it. An example of a good center is having a retail store in a large wholesale vendor.

To gain employment as the overseer of a revenues and costs center, you need to have some financial education background. People that have done a course like business management and commerce at the bachelors level will qualify for the job. In addition to educational qualifications, personal skills such as negotiation skills, good leadership and interpersonal skills and a good sense of accountability for ones actions are needed for success in this position.

The responsibility of someone who is working in a profit center is overseeing the financial dealings of the store. At the same time, you have to liaise with the supervisors who are working at the higher level so that you can be able to have transactions that are smooth coming from the head office to the branched. The managers need to report direct to the supervisor who works at the top.

The salary that they get depends on the organization that they were working it. Generally, the salary is attractive as they get at least $60000 annually. There is also additional bonus hat they get like heath cover, housing, and travel allowance.
