Why Tetrazines Are Important To Chemistry

Not all people has the interest when it comes to the subject chemistry. Somehow, not everyone has the curiosity to go and dig deeper about all the compound elements and materials that are present especially on things and products that are eventually used on a daily basis. One topic that lights up curiosity to chemists out there is the study of Tetrazine. What makes it worth it to study for is that it is found to be an application for conjugation tags on materials connected to chemistry.

They are basically said to be unstable than most of the compounds that have been discovered over the time. Its whole structure is made up of an atomic rings that has six members and is containing four nitrogen atoms. The name was used for the nomenclature of derivatives of the same exact compound.

This idea and compound was originally discovered by a guy that was named Pinner. It was way during the late nineteenth century when the first synthesis of it was published. And even after its discovery, several groups have had goals to even broaden the fact it holds. According to few studies, there were three purposes that have triggered the attention into this research.

The very first purpose was its implication to inverse of Diels Alder reaction as its molecules are prepared and tailored for the reaction. The second in line was its remarkable nitrogen content on its molecule that may be used for some explosive materials. And, last but not the least, it was the preparation of the molecules to dipyridyl Stetrazines.

Somehow, this compound has its three core ring isomers which are one, two, three, four tetrazines, one, two, three, five and the last one would be one, two, four, five tetrazines. It can also be simply referred to as Vtetrazines, AStetrazines and Stetrazines, goes respectively. These three has its own characteristics which makes them unique on their own.

Out of these three, the AStetrazine is the one that is studied the least. There were only few scientists that had the courage to focus on this structure, maybe because there were only few interesting thing that was seen in it. Over the past decades, there were only two synthesis that was published which had focused on it and recently, not even a single component from this structure have been mentioned at all.

Now, out of the three system tetrazines have, the AStetrazines is something that is studied the least. There were no recent researches that have had mentioned any compound that may be from this structure. From the year being of nineteen seventy four, there were only two publications that have appeared which dealt with the said structure.

On the contrary, the Stetrazines are pretty much the one that have been focused most. Its structure is the one that is commonly used to areas of chemistry and to be exact, it is the energetic chemistry. There are two pyridine substituents that is consisting this said structure and this also is the most important reagent to the Diels Alder reactions.

Truth, this topic is truly not easy to decipher and those who do not have enough patience on this would probably just gave this up. This is based on the fact that although there were so many brilliant minds who dared to unravel this, only three hundred publications were describing tetrazines. Though, the world is continuously trying to be better each day, there should be one who would be able to expound more facts on this area.
