Being in sales, the department has to meet the sales quota that was calculated and measured through historical data, forecasting, and marketing. They ensure that their products get sold to customers. They strive to endear the product to the public, especially top clients. They have chemical sales representatives of the job to do that.

Being the sales representative is not easy. They need to have knowledge and education on the chemical products they sell. It would be better if the individuals have a bachelors degree because of the scientific technicalities these products have. It would be best though if they have taken lessons under chemical engineering and its related courses while an undergrad.

Speaking of, training in this field is quite a challenge for they have to be equipped to answer customer questions. This usually last quite longer than typical office jobs. That is because they need to rotate around for a time from offices and plants. This ensures that they get to learn the necessary phases in manufacturing, installing, and distribution of the products.

The company needs competent representatives who embody the characteristics they are looking for. Firstly, interpersonal skills are needed to work well and engage well with customers who have different personalities. If they have that, they can cultivate their customer service skills, especially when listening to customer concerns. Last, this job requires a huge amount of stamina due to the heavy lifting and running they will do.

They sell these products at negotiated price to customers by explaining product details and usage. This is their main job description. However, the job specifications are more profound in detailing their responsibilities. Potential and willing customers have to be identified first in order to have an open discussion. They are going to be observed carefully at conferences and trade shows as well as by recommendation by clients.

Here, they introduce each of their products and help customers select which ones are most suitable to their needs. They recommend specific products where its usage targets that certain need. In addition, they will discuss the limits that each one of these has. They do this in order to put emphasis on the features inherent in them.

Answering customer questions are important. It may range from product details, uses, availability, and price. They should have the skill to negotiate prices that will benefit and favor both customer and company. This will assure customers that they know and understand the products.

Senior colleagues can also help them in sales and information strategies used in the markets. This helps assuage concerns and get customers convinced in buying. When they do, they are responsible of contract preparation and product delivery. Reports are submitted to the department and upper management in order to let them see their progress. Report analysis on factors such as work plan, call reports, and sale territories are the contents of their submissions.

After a time, they have to do follow up calls and visits on the client. This determines their satisfaction on the products causing them to order again. Having satisfied customers will turn them into long term ones that are loyal to them. It will also improve the company and customer relationship they have.
